The national curriculum in England Key stages 1 - 4 framework document

FOCUS ON FAMILY SUPPORT

In line with the National Curriculum Framework, our school staff's children study at the same school at a discounted or sponsored fee. Our teachers (Mentors & Role Models) must also be able to take account of the needs of pupils whose first language is not English. For our school, this requirement is not only limited to Language, but we extend this to cultural and heritage background, family roots and family Links. Monitoring of progress should take account of the pupil’s age, length of time in this country, previous educational experience and ability in other languages.

ENHANCED AFRICAN TRADITIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

Ou school teachers should be able to set high expectations for every pupil. They should be able to plan stretching work for pupils whose attainment is significantly above the expected standard. They have an even greater obligation to plan lessons for pupils who have low levels of prior attainment or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Teachers should use appropriate assessment to set targets which are deliberately ambitious. Our school staff are expected to use STEMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Art) to attain our school expectations.
